The Oxford School, Kollam celebrated Teachers Day and Onam as a collaborative assembly on a humungous magnitude of grandeur on 6th September 2019. The Chief Guest for the festive occasion was Mr. G Gopalakrishna Pillai (Former Account Officer, The Oxford School). Both the students & staff gathered joyfully for the celebration at the school quadrangle. The celebration began with the special assembly conducted by the teachers. It was actually a well planned assembly that had a blend of culture, tradition and history had all mesmerized. Students were delighted to see their teachers perform and embolden them with a round of applause. Principal, Dr. Sajid Ali addressed the gathering with his inspiring words and highlighted the importance of celebrating Onam and thanked all the teachers for their diligence, sincerity and hardwork. Various cultural program and games got underway after the formal function. All the students were distributed delicious payasam and the teachers were given ambrosial onasadya.
The event ended with “tug-of-war” and distribution of gifts to teachers which brought a grand ending to it. Amidst cheers of happiness and excitement, children learnt the importance of these very special days and imbibed in them pride, cultural oneness and a sense of belonging that we are one big family.
