Montessori education has worked all over the world, with all kinds of children (wealthy, poor, gifted, normal, learning disabled, blind, etc.) and environments (from refugee camps and slums, to elegant schools in beautiful private homes). It is not the richness of the environment that determines the success of the Montessori Method, but the preparation of the teacher.
The first batch of Montessori/ Pre-primary Teacher Trainees from the Oxford Kids House of Teachers Training completed their hand on experience training period from The Oxford School, Kollam on 17.10.2019.
A unique aspect of the course of study is regular hands on practice with materials in the classroom environment. Trainees learned how to set up an appropriate environment and present age appropriate materials and activities in areas suitable to the developmental stage of the child.
