Never forget the victims, never forget History- Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day 2020

The Oxford School Kollam observed Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day 2020, reminding students about the dangers of nuclear warfare and drawing lessons from horrific past for a peaceful future.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day is an annual remembrance generally observed on 6th & 9th August , the anniversary of the first use of nuclear weapons at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. While the use of nuclear bombs inarguably hastened the end of the war, that came at the cost of tens of thousands of lives. Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day arose as a way to commemorate this event, as well as to draw awareness of pro-peace, anti-war, and anti-nuclear weapons campaigns.
