National Unity Day- Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2020

The Oxford School, Kollam celebrated ‘National Unity Day’ with great zeal and enthusiasm to spread the message of Unity, Integrity and Security of our country.

A special online assembly was organized by the students of Grade VI A. They commemorated the effort for unity made by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel through Slogans and Speech. The assembly conveyed the message that ‘united, we stand and divided, we fall’. It instilled patriotism in the young minds and inspired the students to work hard towards making this world a better place to live in by respecting and treating all citizens equally, irrespective of their caste, creed, race and social background.

Apart from the special assembly a series of activities were conducted by the school to commemorate the occasion which included –

  1. “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge” undertaken by all the students from Grade VI- XII and teaching staff.
  2. Essay writing competition for the students of Grade XI & XII on the theme of ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’.
  3. Poster Making competition for the students of Grade VII & VIII on the theme ‘Rashtriya Ekta’.
  4. Students of Grade V & VI participated in the Quiz Competition organised by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The occasion reaffirmed the importance of unity, integrity and security amongst the students and staff and the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand any actual and potential threats which may affect us on the whole.
