A unique endeavor by the girls of grade 9th&10th The Oxford School Kollam. To enhance co-scholastic excellence through life-skills, they visited The Kollam Mayor, Advocate Rajendra Babu at his corporation office, Kollam on 11th Aug 2016, guided by their life-skill teacher Mrs.Anjana along with associate teachers Mrs.Sajina and Mrs.Nazila. Several queries on the social issues faced by the contemporary society were raised by the students which included safety measures to mitigate the deadly snares of men against women, eradication of waste, new accomplishments of students. To which the Mayor gave a detail plans for the forthcoming days ahead ie, to construct an Oceanium, after the approval of central government, housing and sanitation for the inmates living in slums, reconstruction of dilapulated buildings like Cheena Palace ,Dutch Palace, reconstruction of roads ,renovate the library for students that will be opened till 9Pm, re-functioning of traditional Tin factories ,Cashew factories etc.
It was really memorable and informative interview session kindling their minds to inculcate moral values and also admired the challenges faced by the multifaceted personality of Adv. Ranjendra Babu who aspires to make his dream projects come true. The one hour session ended recollecting the quotes of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to dream and persue with it till its fulfilled
