GRANDPARENTS DAY CELEBRATION

Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children”- Alex Haley

With the shrinking size of families, grandparents are often missed the most by children. It is important to sensitize kids about the role of grandparents in one’s life and teach them about respecting and taking care of them in their old age.  Keeping this in view, the pre-primary wing of The Oxford School, Kollam, celebrated Grandparents Day in the school premises on 29th February 2020.

The Grandparents were brimming with excitement and happiness as they entered the premises for the celebration of the Grandparents Day. The entire team of Kindergarten – teachers and students, left no stone unturned to make the event a memorable and a nostalgic one.

After the Official function the event started with a prayer for the grandparents to keep them blessed with good health. It was followed by an enthralling performance by students and fun filled games for the Grandparents.

Chief Guest of the occasion Mr. Madhavan Pillai, NS Hospital- Vice President, expressed his thoughts and reiterated the fact that the contribution of grandparents in the upbringing of young children was most valuable. The Vice Principal, Mrs. Mini.K.Pillai and KG-HOS Mrs. Ameena Nazir expressed their gratitude and thanked each grandparent for having spared the time to make the event a grand success.

As a token of love the grandchildren handovered gifts to their Grandparents on the special day.

The day filled with fun and frolic was a memorable one for the grandparents, who left with pleasant memories, loads of appreciation and heaps of blessings to the school and its management.
