An awareness program was organized at The Oxford School, Kollam on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 27th June 2019. The program was attended by the students of Class XI & XII. Mr. Sooraj N, Assistant Sub Inspector, District Special Branch was our chief guest and speaker for the session.
Mr. Sooraj N spoke to the children about various issues related to drug and alcohol abuse, and the use of such toxins in our day to day life. He advised the children about different ways to keep themselves away from such evils. In order to help the students get an in-depth view of this problem, he also screened video clippings on the issue of drug abuse. He concluded the session by encouraging the students to accelerate the habit of reading by conducting a Spot Quiz based on current affairs with prizes to the students. The entire session had a wonderful effect on the students who vowed to stay away from drugs and alcohol, and also to help keep society away from it.
